A Brief History
The history of our firm began with the establishment of two insurance agencies: the Peter B. Ellis Agency in Owego in 1937, and the Victor B. Taylor Agency in Vestal in 1944. Each of these firms developed and grew to become Ellis, Edson, Beaudry, Inc. in Owego, and Barrett & Chubb, Inc., in Vestal.
In 1985, these two agencies merged in order to streamline management, to expand our services to clients, and to service a broader market area. The merged company adopted a new name to reflect its new character: The Partners, Ellis-Edson-Beaudry-Barrett & Chubb, Inc. Today, The Partners offers a comprehensive line of insurance and financial products and services. The Partners, in combination with its predecessor firms, has now served residents of Broome, Tioga, and the surrounding counties, continuously for over 63 years.
Our Professional, Partnership Approach
At The Partners, we are proud of the depth of our knowledge and experience. Currently, we have a staff of 37. Our commitment to professionalism and excellence is exhibited by the 27 employees who hold NY and/or PA licenses for property, casualty, life, accident, health, and securities; and the many employees who have earned various different professional designations.
Although we are professional in our approach, we strive for relaxed, friendly, personable way of doing business. We refer to this as our "partnership approach".
